About Me

Hi, I’m the English Teacher Pet. On this blog, you’ll hear a lot about my experiences entering the field of education as I pursue my passion to be a high school English teacher. I may  make a few allusions to literary and/or classic figures, so kudos to all who figure them out! You might also get to see some samples of my creative writing pieces, and MAYBE a chapter or two of the novel I’ve been working on for about a a year and a half. But here’s some info about me. I post creative work on The Sextant Review at WordPress, mostly poetry.

If you want a laugh, check out my other blog, In My Unprofessional Opinion.

Awards/Honors I’ve Received: 2nd place Law Day Writing Contest for High School Seniors, Honorable Mention Media Science Poets, Borgenicht Foundation Service Learning Scholar, Teach for America Candidate, World Poetry Movement Distinguished Writer, College Prison Education Partnership Tutor, ABE certified GED English/Reading Teacher  for the Delaware County Literacy Council.

My name’s Meg, I’m 22 years old, and I like a lot of things. I’m obsessed with trying new things and enriching my life with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. I like all kinds of music, but my favorite is 70s and 80s rock. I also really like dark gothic artists, like Aurelio Voltaire. I love to go to literary events and meet writers. I like rainy weather and winter and snow. I go to college in Charm City and I live in the City of Brotherly Love.

Ultimately, my one true love is helping people and sharing my passion for writing with others, and making lives better. Thanks for checking out my page!
